A couple days before Sam + Scott’s Black Balsam Knob engagement, the area got some snow and ice and little did we know, the parks service had closed the parkway which happens to be the only way to get to there by car. Samantha + Scott were coming up from Charlotte and we were coming from Raleigh. So, we may or may not have noticed that the gate wasn’t actually locked, then proceeded to open the gate, drive through and lock it with a lock Scott had in his car.
Needless to say, these two live for adventure. Beside the fact it was so frigid cold up there, it was pretty spectacular having about 10 miles of the parkway absolutely to ourselves 🙂
