Photographing a wedding in NYC is always a blast. We love spending time in the city and getting reenergized and inspired. We love to hit up our favorite staple spots like Balthazar, Wolfnights, Lucien, Cafe Mogador, etc., plus all the shops we love to visit and friends we love to see. This time around was a little different. On my way there, I found out they were going to be blocking travelers from North Carolina from coming into New York. After a bit of stress and worry, luckily, it all worked out because there was no way I was going to miss Dayoung + Peter’s Brooklyn wedding at The Foundry.
I had already had so much fun with these two and we had created such a genuine friendship. On a previous trip to NYC, where they were living, we set up their engagement session, and during our first meeting we ventured up to the Catskill Mountains together. On our way back, we stopped in Palisades Park where we went to the most authentic Korean restaurant I had ever been to and it was incredible. On another trip to NYC, I spend a freezing winter afternoon with them and we just had such a sweet time.
At last, I was able to make it to and photograph their beautiful Brooklyn wedding, surrounded by their closest friends in family in a beautiful space. They held everything outside and it was honestly the most perfect day with the most beautiful weather. Their ceremony was sincerely beautiful and the party was absolutely incredible. So thankful it all worked out and so thankful to these two for their friendship and trust.
