We drove into Williamsburg pretty late the night before the wedding and couldn’t see much. So, when we woke up that next morning from our little cabin room behind the main bed and breakfast, it was like our eyes were be treated to a big bowl of sugary, sweet ice cream.!! Or something like that. HAHA! Needless to say, Williamsburg, VA is just a beautiful, historically rich town that just has a good feel to it. Irene and Boyang went to school at William + Mary, so they have a lot of history there and since the majority of their guests were coming from China or states hundreds of miles away, they wanted to bring everyone to a place that held a really special place in their heart.
Their wedding day was split into two parts; Chinese tea ceremony and the traditional western ceremony. It was incredible. Bringing only their closest friends and friends into town for their Williamsburg, VA wedding gave the whole day such an intimate feel. And of course, it was just so much fun shooting something a little different. We’ve shot other types of ceremonies, of course it’s not as frequent as western ceremonies. One of our favorite parts of the Chinese tradition was the gatecrashing. It was pretty freaking hilarious to witness. If you aren’t similar with that, definitely look it and then come back and look at the photos of Boyang gatecrashing for Irene!
