Meet Liz and Micah. These two are without a doubt two of the most amazing, down-to-earth, beautiful souls we know. Following us and our shenanigans on Instagram (brett|jessica) sparked these two to contact us for their May elopement. Liz’z gracious compliment in her initial email to us saying how much she loved our work and how “capturing couples in natural & fine art ways” was something she loved about our work was on point. It really is such a big part of what we do and love to do together. When they contacted us specifying their desire for just that, we knew it was just right. We loved how they also included links to each side of their proposal story (his|hers). Liz is a brand director at Braid Creative, whose blog Jess had recently discovered and fell in love with just before Liz contacted us. When we discovered the connection, we were pretty much starry-eyed. I mean, we LOVE everything Braid Creative is about, so check them out like right now. Liz’s best friend/boss lady, Kathleen with Braid Creative, officiated with her husband (Micah’s best man) and their sweet, new little baby boy at her side for their nuptials amidst the waterfall at Looking Glass Falls in the Pisgah National Forest. For their elopement, Liz and Micah knew they wanted to be amongst the beautiful wilderness, their close friends, and for it to be a secret. When most everything for your special day (elopement or not) is ultimately a product of a labor of love shared between a couple and their closest family and/or friends, it shows through beautifully. There literally might not be adequate enough of words to fully express how magically beautiful this day was and how incredibly thankful we are to have been a part of it. They really let us in, not just to their day, but their lives (so much so, Jess had the huge honor to sign as a witness on their marriage license!) To wrap up the day, we strolled downtown Asheville and goofed, with cameras in tow. We are ridiculously happy for these two and will forever cherish these beautiful moments and memories.
