One thing we’ve always loved about the end of year is the part of it when we sit down and look back everything we did, everything we experienced and the places we have gone. Being creatives who are the only driving force behind a business, is not only important but also super riveting. All of the amazing people we’ve met and the places we’ve visited were amazing, but in the end, nothing compares to the stories we captured. We captured so many this year. 31 wedding to be exact and 22 engagement sessions, 10 family sessions and 2 anniversary sessions. This year, we got to travel to Maine, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia as well as so many trips back and forth across the state of North Carolina. And while everything can sometimes feel as though it’s changed for us since having baby, we’ve certainly learned how to value our time, work and art more and more. We intentionally scheduled a slower spring this past year, so we could spend as much time with our son while he still just a teeny tiny baby and it was 100% worth it. The learning process of going from being a full-time photographer running your own business to being full-time parents and still being-full time photographers running your own business will certainly shape anyone as a person, creative and business owner. We can’t wait continue that process this year and expand ourselves emotionally, mentally and certainly creatively.
This year, we were extremely blessed to have the opportunity to work some amazing brands. When we say extremely blessed, we seriously mean that. Working with brands and small businesses is something we absolutely love, in addition to weddings, elopements and portrait/family sessions. From Bobble to Slingshot Coffee Co. to our friends at Good South, Remodelista, Bare Bones, The Haymaker and from the app megahouse WillowTree to and more, it’s been especially amazing because each of these brands and businesses have been so in sync with the way we work and produce our images. Here’s to hopefully doing more work with more amazing brands and businesses this year too!
